MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) This motherboard DOESN’T HAVE the power-on pads. I am assuming this means they are just grounding ends of traces in the cables?įurther, what should be done to make these contact that sub-plate again? Conductive adhesive?Īny info would be appreciated. The dots are also visible on the undersurface of the cable, and the plate to which they used to contact has no features. I am wondering what this cluster of dots is? The problem was that as we were levering off the cable, the tool got between the small metal plate and the ribbon cable, rather than where it should've gone, which was between the metal plate and the board. It is meant to come up with the cable, and is adhered to a part of the pcb below that seems to be grounding. However, they neglected to mention that beneath this ribbon cable is a metal plate that is integral to the cable itself. ![]() ![]() ifixit said to heat this, and pry it upward. So, last night we were swapping a battery in a 2016 MacBook pro. ![]()
